OPENING COMMENTS:
BOARD MEMBERS Supervisor Stone
mentioned the erroneous reports in the paper regarding the closing of his Hemet
office and stated there will be no interruption in services in the Hemet area
and he will have regular office hours on Thursdays at the Val Vista Sheriff
Station.
Supervisor Stone mentioned that the County is going to maintain it’s obligation to public safety and insure that our
communities are safe, and he asked that Departments refrain from inflaming
fears within the media.
Supervisor Stone asked
the Agricultural Commissioner to look into the statement that there is a
resurgence of the Glassy-winged sharpshooter in the Temecula Wine Country and
report back in two weeks.
Supervisor Stone asked
the Executive Office to investigate the possibility of adding three more
Assessment Appeals Boards to relieve the back log of assessment appeals.
Supervisor Stone
mentioned that Assistant County Executive Officer/EDA, Robin Zimpfer is retiring March 30, 2009 and asked Executive
Office to begin agenizing how the Board wishes to proceed with her replacement.
Supervisor Tavaglione mentioned they are making good progress on the
joint meeting with the four counties from Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego
and Imperial in Sacramento to meet with legislators to review state’s proposed
budget measures and discuss potential affects on
Riverside County.

centers) into the Riverside County General Plan and to amend the following land
use designations: Agriculture: Agriculture; Rural: Rural Residential, Rural
Mountainous, and Rural Desert; Rural Community: Estate Density Residential,
Very Low Density Residential, and Low Density Residential; Open Space:
Recreation and Rural; Community Development: EDR, VLDR, LDR, Medium Density
Residential, Medium High Density Residential, High Density Residential, Very
High Density Residential, Highest Density Residential, Commercial Retail,
Commercial Tourist, Commercial Office, Light Industrial, Business Park, Public
Facilities, Community Center, and Mixed Use Planning Area; and proposes to
amend the following zone classifications: Rural Residential, One-Family
Dwelling, One-Family Dwellings – Mountain Resort, Residential Agricultural,
Multiple Family Dwellings, Limited Multiple Family Dwellings, General
Residential, Village Tourist Residential, Mobilehome
Subdivision and Mobilehome Park, Mobilehome
Subdivision – Rural, Planned Residential, Open Area Combining Zone –
Residential Developments, Residential Incentive, Tourist Commercial, Rural
Commercial, Light Agriculture, Heavy Agriculture, Citrus/Vineyard, Commercial
Citrus/Vineyard, Controlled Development Areas, Regulated Development Areas,
Specific Plan, and Natural Assets; and, Adoption of Ordinance no. 348.4596, an Ordinance of the
County of Riverside Amending Ordinance No. 348 Regulating Land use (to allow
for development of child care facilities).

state’s proposed budget measures and discuss potential effects on Riverside
