OPENING COMMENTS:
BOARD MEMBERS
Supervisor Buster spoke about the graduation
of 35 volunteer Firefighters and mentioned how cost effective a lot of these
types of programs can be and where all need to invest more. He also asked Bill
Luna and Ron Komers to give them preference in hiring.
Supervisor Ashley spoke about the National
Association of Counties meeting in D.C. and mentioned the money Riverside
County would be receiving as a donor state.
Supervisor Stone mentioned his tour to
Blythe. He also elaborated on Supervisor Ashleys comments on the NACO meeting.
He mentioned that public safety is his number one priority and that he will not
condone closing of public safety offices or cuts in public safety officers.
Supervisor Stone mentioned that we need to push for more Assessment Appeals
Boards and requested a meeting with the Executive Office and the Assessor on
getting these Boards put together.
EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Bill Luna mentioned that the Budgets were
due a week ago and that there will be some very challenging decisions during
the budget process.
STATE BUDGET UPDATE
Supervisor Tavaglione thanked his colleagues for attending the NACO
meeting and asked that we focus on accountability when passing the budget. He
also mentioned that the state budget is in worse shape then what was thought
and that we have some tough decisions ahead when passing our budget.

1056, to amend Policy 1.5 of Citrus/Vineyard Rural Policy Area of the Southwest
Area Plan in the Riverside County General Plan to include Special Occasion
Facilities as incidental uses that may be allowed on parcels of 10 or more
acres with associated on-site vineyards; and, Tentative Approval of ZC 7666, to
amend the development standards of the Citrus/Vineyard (C/V) zoning
classification in Ordinance No. 348 Section 14.73 to increase the acreage
requirements for Special Occasion Facilities from five (5) acres with
associated onsite vineyards to ten (10) or more acres with associated onsite
vineyards and to change the setback requirements.
